What is DNA Fragmentation Index (DFI)?
DNA Fragmentation Index (DFI) measures the level of DNA damage within sperm. This damage may be caused by oxidative stress, toxins, smoking, infections, lifestyle factors, or other underlying health issues. A normal DFI is usually considered less than 15%, while high DFI, especially above 25โ30%, may be linked to reduced fertility and a higher risk of miscarriage.
